Why am I getting the same email delivered multiple times? Outlook

Hi -- has anyone experienced this?

Sometimes when I log in to the computer and launch Outlook 2000 I'll get the
same emails delivered over and over again. Right now I'm at 2643 emails and
counting and it's delivering the same 20 or so emails every minute. That is,
each minute it populates my inbox with the same email and each one is
"created" a minute apart but they're the same email.

Our IT guy says it's an Outlook issue (not a server issue) and that's not
helping.

Anyone have any ideas on why it's happening and how to stop it?

In what mode are you using Outlook? Examine the second line of Help>About.
