while installing SP2 (tonight) i heard a noise from hard drive & more

i was install SP2 and half though the installation process . i heard a
noise like the pin on the hard drive went to postition like in
shutdown, after rebooting and check the status of my IDE drives my
drive passed the test. I had to take off XP and reinstall XP again so
that i because taking off the SP2( part of it ) caused problems so i
had to reinstall windows XP home system . can anyone tell me what
happend or should i call my computer company? i need some help in this
field please

noise.
