While copying and pasting the computer hangs up.

While copying and pasting the computer will hang up, we finally have to go to
control, Alt, Delete reset to unlock the machine. Have downloaded all
patches, and uninstalled and reinstalled the program and patches - still
having the same problem.
 
What are you copying/pasting, and from what to what?
What program(s) are you using?
What are you trying to do?
