From the Toucan website.....

Windows Vista operating system

'Please note that while the Speedtouch USB modem drivers support new PC's
running the new Windows Vista operating system, they do not currently
support systems that have been upgraded to Vista from a previous XP
installation. As soon as the updated drivers become available they will be
posted on this site.'

From what that says, your 'new' PC should work. Although I find the entire
thing quite odd.

Maybe you should get them on the phone and find out what EXACTLY that
means, of course several reviews I saw about Toucan said to 'stay away' and
the tech department is worthless and doesn't even know what's going on on
their own network.

The problem is them using a crappy USB modem, instead of an ethernet
enabled device.

BT total broadband Option 3 with unlimited downlaod has worked perfectly
since beta 5600 and now in resleased OS

Hi
I've had an awful time with Toucan.
They originally told me that they would send me a disc through the post for
a vista modem. It got lost in the post and was sent twice more, so I have
doubts to as it actually exists. On the last chaser (6 weeks after signing
up to them), I was told that it wouldn't work anyway. I then spent an hour
and a half on dial up (Toucan's!!) downloading software, which also doesn't
work. I was then advised to have the disc mailed to me ... that also doesn't
work and today their technical people told me to "manually recreate the
dialler for your Toucan broadband account in order to resolve your concern.
Please contact your local computer supplier as we currently do not provide
support for Windows Vista dialler" - whatever that means???? I'm a punter
that just wants broadband. (FYI I've yelled and complained, they have
promised me 4 callbacks, I've only ever had 1). They tell me I'm in contract
- and bill me, and yet getting access to their broadband using vista is a
total and utter nightmare!
