Which pdf creator/printer can print WITHOUT an intermediate Postscript/Ghostprint step/converter ?

Lots of so called pdf converters/printers (e.g. out of MSOffice Word) convert the source
document first into a postscript format prior to the final pdf format.

Which pdf printer/writer do NOT need this intermediate step but do a one-step-conversion to pdf?

I know only one: Jaws pdf creator but this is expensive

I think PDF995 (http://www.pdf995.com/upgrade.html) does
not require this intermediate step. It costs only $10.00. There
is a free trial version
