which intel cpu is faster

Intending to buy a computer system, that runs 3DMax or Maya 7 animation programs, MS SQL Server 2005 for VB database project, and play a few sessions of Age of Empire III to relax a while, to replace the old existing one. The ads stating: (a) Intel Pentium 4 511 processor, (b) Intel Pentium D 820 processor -- which one is enough to meet my needs?
