Which counter to monitor to make sure new 'aging' settings are OK ?

I need to make sure that my "Reverse Lookup zone" records get cleaned up
accordingly since an internal application relies on reverse lookups. In my
DNS server, currently is set to no-refresh=7 days, refresh int=7
days,scavenge=7 days.

If I want to change the "Reverse Lookup Zones" scavenging options = 1 day, 1
day, 1 day

Besides monitoring the "DNS" server CPU and memory, which counter should I
monitor to make sure I don't compromise server performance when using the
new aging setting of "1" day ?

Are these records registered by DHCP?

If so, see if this helps:

Here's some info on Scavenging and the dos and don'ts. I wouldn't drop it
down to one day, it may cause issues.
