Which compatible ink jet cartridges to buy?

I have used several compatible cartidges in my old Epson Stylus 600 and
my Photo 780 and they seem to work OK. I recently bought some
cartridges with the name Orange on them and I believe they print photos
too dark but don't have any Epsons to compare them to. I'm also
concerned about the life of the prints. I read one article that stated
the compatible ink prints would only last a few months to several years
instead of 25 years or more. Is this true? Does anyone have a favorite
brand they use in the 780, 785, or 870? What about the newer Epsons
such as the R220? Anyone using Rainbow box or Nectron cartridges?

Even Epson's own dye colorant inks will not give you very long lasting
results.

All inks differ and some aren't tested so you take a certain risk unless
the company is willing to guarantee something or show test results.

In general, pigment colorant inks have less fading by quite a bit.

THERE ARE NO KNOWN BRANDS OF AFTERMARKET CARTS THAT THE RELABELERS
SELL. YOU CANNOT TELL IF ANY ARE MARGINALLY ACCEPTABLE SINCE YOU DO NOT
KNOW WHAT IS IN THEM. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW.

PROBABLY WITH MANY BUT SINCE THEY DO NOT DISCLOSE WHAT YOU ARE BUYING
YOU NEVER KNOW.
