dont get the 9600, go for the 9700 or even 9800 129meg cards, i dont
advise getting the 256 ddr meg cards though there really isnt much of a
performance increase at the moment with current applications/games.

256Megs is not about performance - not in terms of frame rates or anything.
It's about how many textures you can get.
HL2 will make use of 256Meg if it's there.
