I've been advised to go with Zone Alarm, AVG, or ESET Nod32. Which is best?
Thanks!

There are many Free good AV applications available, and almost everyone has
his favorite. Most of the users are emotionally attached to their av
application and will have excellent reasons for not recommending any other
brand.

Consequent to my recommendations, most probably, somebody will come along
and tell you that Choice A is great, and Choice B is not so good. Then
someone else tells you that Choice B is better than Choice A, and you're
misguided for using Choice A. And so on.

The most important thing here is that all of the available choices listed
here are better in some respects than in others, and which choice is better
for *you* depends on what you do, how you work, and which features you use.
The way you use your PC is different from others.

AntiVir is better than both AVG and Avast and since AOL AVS is based upon
Kaspersky AV, AOL
AVS is higher-ranking then all of them, just don't opt for the toolbar
offered during installation.
ESET Nod32 is an excellent AV application but you've got to pay for it :)
Good luck.

McAfee is the best, sorry guys...

Check our website, we review it.

Actually, I think you'll find Kaspersky Anti-Virus is the best. Small
footprint, fast, excellent support, including a great and responsive forum.

For me the firewall and most important is webroot spysweeper-we are on line
quite bit and that spyware was worse than virus...wrecked my old
computer-since we have used spysweeper no problems..I also have escan-it
find a few viruses and weird things that have not meaning on my computer--I
also use a program called Reg cleaner which cleans up my registry daily..
have them on my desktop and laptop computers-use the XP firewall. I have had
no problems for last year and a half and we are on line 8 hrs a day.
Webroot spyweeeper-$25 year
Escan anti virus-$25 year
regcleaner(free)

NOD32 - excellent AV and quite good with lots of malware.
It has caught two trojans for me over the last year.

It is also light on resources - it does what it's supposed
to do and it does it well - worth paying for.

Two of how many? I found NOD32 to be sloppy with trojans.

As far as I know....two of two. My computer has not gone
down and continues to run quite well.
