Word pad and Notebook ONLY? Gimme a break! Is there an
upgrade or some way I can load a Word program on my
Windows 2000? I need a real word processing program.I
hated ME but at least it had Word along with the
ridiculous Wordpad and Notebook

Word did NOT come with ME. Your system vendor may have included Word in your
system package, but it wasn't distributed as part of ME. If you have retired
the ME system, or you have simply replaced ME with 2000, you might be
entitled to load Word from the system disk that your ME vendor provided.
Otherwise, your only option is to purchase a legitimate copy of Word.

As already mentioned, Word doesn't come with ME. Just like ME, installing
Word or some other word-processing application on your W2K system will
provide you with a word processor.

Greetings --

Give you a break? What in the world did you expect?

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.

1) Go to store/shop that sells computer software.

2) Purchase the either the stand-alone version of Word or the
Microsoft Office suite of your choice.

3) Return home.

4) Insert installation CD in PC's CD drive and follow the on-screen
prompts and instructions to install application and desired additional
features.
