Where to find standby & hibernation in Power Options

When I open Power Options and click Power Schemes down arrow, I only have the
following: Home/Office Desk, Portable/Laptop, Presentation, Always On,
Minimal Power Management, Max Battery. I don't have Standby or Hibernate, so
I can't set the computer on Standby or Hibernate. What should I do to have
these two Power Schemes in the list?

Thanks.

They are not in Power Schemes but underneath of:

"Settings for Always on power scheme"
Turn Off Monitor:
Turn Off hard disks:

System Standby
System Hibernates:

Maybe this is what missing in your case.

This is usually being asked after a fresh installation of Windows XP because
after seeing the clarity of Windows XP many of us forget to install the
display drivers. To check this, you can open Device Manager by Right-clicking
on My Computer and choose Properties and click Hardware tab. Check if there
is an entry of "Display Adapters" or a device listed with yellow exclamation
marks. You can also check this by right-clicking on Desktop and choose
Properties. Click Settings tab. Under the picture of monitor:

Display:
Plug and Play Monitor on VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP

Yours will be:
Plug and Play Monitor on ____________________ [with no name]

What you need is to install or reinstall your Display Drivers. Check for
your motherboard / display card cd or download the drivers from motherboard /
display card's manufacturer website.

For other Power Options problem read the following article:

Hope this help, let us know!

First off, Hibernate and Standby aren't Power Schemes. They're
power states into which the computer can be placed. They can be
settings within a Power Scheme. It sounds like they're missing
from Power Options on your computer.

When you open Power Options, is this what you see?

If you're system supports Standby and Hibernate, you should see
this.

Let's start with hibernation. In Power Options, click on the
Hibernate tab and make sure there's a check mark in the box
next to "Enable Hibernation". If you see an APM tab, click on
it and put a check mark in the box next to "Enable Advanced
Power Management support". Now click on the Power Schemes tab.
You should see an entry at the bottom of the Settings box for
"System hibernates".

As for System standby, make sure you have the latest drivers
for your display adapter installed. Go to your computer
manufacturer's support web site to download the latest drivers.
If you have a separate video card, check that manufacturer's
web site.

If you run into any problems, post back with information about
your computer and video card. Include make and model #.

Good luck
