Where is SMO?

P

Paul Ritchie

I've seen posts that SQL Server 2005 "we get" SMO - SQL Management Objects.

However from what I understand of it's 2000 and 7 support, I shouldn't need
to install SQL Server 2005 to get SMO.

Can someone confirm that it actually comes with a certain version of the
..NET framework, and whether it is therefore supported under Visual Studio
2003?

many thanks,
Paul Ritchie.

SMO comes with SQL Server 2005 and replaces DMO in 2000.

Thanks Gregory,

Is this part of the client tools in 2005 do you know? eg should I have to
install SQL Server on a machine in order to use this client-side library?

cheers,
Paul.
