Where is my System Info?

Just upgraded to IE7 and then went to look in my sys info for something and
found that a new window comes up. When I follow the directions:

To display system data
Open System Information
Double-click a category in the category tree, and then click an item to
display its information in the details pane.
Note

To open System Information, click Start, and then click Help and Support.
Click the Support button on the toolbar, and then, under Tools and Links on
the left side of the window, click Advanced System Information. In the
details pane, click View detailed system information.

and when I click on View detailed system information, it takes me right back
to the original Help and Support window....

Oh dear, that was a mistake. Many people report problems after doing this.
In Add/Remove programs you can uninstall IE7.

And many people have no problems and like IE7. What is your point?

Well, I was hoping that I did not have to do that as this is the only 1 of 3
computers that this has happened on ...

Hi wendyb,

The problem you are describing is often attributable to a missing index.dat
file in the WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\OfflineCache folder.
If one or both of your two other computers have XP installed and are not
experiencing the same problem, copy the index.dat file from the
above-mentioned folder into the same folder on the "problem" computer, using
whatever means is easiest for you (i.e., via network, floppy disk, USB
drive, etc.)

Many people report problems after installing *anything* new. Whenever *any*
new software comes out, you hear about problems with it. That's because
people come to places like the newsgroups to look for help with the problems
they have, but don't come to tell you about their successes. And since there
are are inevitably *some* problems, you hear about them.

But most often the problems are user error, hardware-related, wrong
expectations of how things work, etc., rather than real problems . I've
installed IE7 on a bunch of machines, and have experienced *no* problems
with it at all.

In Add/Remove programs you can uninstall IE7.

That would be a mistake.

Thank-you Patti, That did the trick.
