Where is my Pdf toolbar. Word 2003

I have just upgraded from Word 2000 to Word 2003.

In 2000 when I installed my Acrobat pdf writer a tool bar appeared.
However on 2003 there is no toolbar and wondered whether I can get one on
there.

Have you checked if your versio of pdf writer software is compatible
with MS Word 2003?
Have you tried (uninstalling and) re-installing your pdf writer
software?
If that does not help, consult the support pages on the website of your
pdf writer software.

There are two issues here:

1 - is the compatibility issue raised by Amedee. Only Acrobat 5 & 6 are
compatible and you need the appropriate updates from Adobe.
2 - 2000 and 2003 use different Office add-in folders. Word 2003 will not
see files in the 2000 startup folder. Check the add-in is correctly located
in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\STARTUP

If 1 is OK, 2 would probably be corrected by reinstalling.

It should do, but doesn't automatically follow - Acrobat predates Word 2003
and the new folder structure would not have been known at the time. I have
seen Acrobat installations put the add-in in C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE\STARTUP where Word will no longer automatically load it.

Hi, you have to intall Adobe software after installing Word in order for the
Adobe software to recognize the Microsoft Office Software. Now that you
upgraded you have to back to your Acrobat software and choose from the "Help"
menu detect and repair command, you may be prompted to insert your Acrobat
software.
Hope this help. I had the same issue. Assia

Thanks for the replies and I will, over the Christmas break, look on the
Adobe site as I have a version that predates the Word 2003.
