I have seen other posts about "copying to the Clipboard"
Where is the Clipboard? Suppose I copy something to clipboard and then want
to
recover the information from the clipboard. Where do I look?

I don't have a problem, but I am just curious.
thanks

Me too. I also have wondered but never really looked apart from
checking out "accessories" or agreeing to clear "clipboard". We'll
have to wait & see if someone enlightens us, SayWhat. :)

Right here:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe

C:\Windows32\clipbrd32.exe. It may be in start\all programs\accessories. If
not, copy or place shortcut there for ease of access.

Yep, I found it.
Now another question. How do I make a shortcut for it. I looked and
clicked and right clicked
yet still did not find the option to make it a shortcut?

When you highlight, e.g., a line of text then right-click on it and select
Copy, you're copying it to this (somewhat imaginary) clipboard.

To copy something to the clipboard, you use the command copy or cut,
usually in the Edit menu of an application or by right-clicking an item
or a selection.

To recover what's in the clipboard, you use the command Paste usually
located at the same place than Copy and Cut.

You found the clip board *viewer* but not the clip board itself...the
latter is just an area in RAM where whatever you copy is stashed until you
copy something else or shut down. Where in RAM? Who knows, who cares...

It's in memory.

Suppose I copy something to clipboard and then want
to
recover the information from the clipboard.

Paste it where you want it.

Where do I look?

If you just want to look at it, you can do it in either of two ways:

1. Run the clipboard viewer, which is at
c:\windows\system32\clipbrd.exe

2. Paste the contents into Notepad, or wherever else you want to look
at it.

As far as I'm concerned, the clipboard viewer is almost never needed,
and it's much simpler to just paste the clipboard contents.

Or by pressing Ctrl-C for copy or Ctrl-X for cut.

Or by pressing Ctrl-V.

I use those keyboard shortcuts most often.

You can also copy your screen contents with the Print Screen
key, which, despite the name on it, _doesn't_ print, but copies
to the clipboard, and you can view the contents of the clipboard
with a shortcut which is probably on your Desktop and which is,
surprise, surprise, named (by default, anyway) Clipboard.

To copy just the contents of the current window, Alt-Print Screen.
