Where do I find my Outlook messages and Contacts?

I just purchased a new laptop, my old hard drive crashed. I do have an
external backup of the files, but, nothing saved on it from Outlook. Is
there somewhere on the internet that I can transfer from Outlook my old
saved messages and contacts?

Outlook or Outlook Express?
How sure are you that the backup doesn't contain mail files?

If your mail program was configured to leave a copy of messages
on the server, check your webmail access portal.
 
I'd the same problem, I've a backup of my HD, but I don't know where I find
the messages of windows mail.

Windows Mail keeps the raw message files in the following directory:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders\...
