where did all my sound go? now only red X

opened a few projects and all the sound is gone, replaced by red X's so
where did it go? music, narration, all of it.

do not recall deleting any sound files off my computer, especially narrations

A Red X usually indicates that a source
file has been moved / deleted or for whatever
reason is no longer accessible.

Try right clicking the Red Xs and see if you
can browse to the current location of the
source files. That may re-establish the path.
