Where can I look in a folder, such as c:\winnt, to find out what service pack is installed?

I need to check all of our company's computers to make sure that SP3 is
installed because our WSUS server is acting up and telling us that some
have it when they don't. I want to know where to look to see if they
have SP3 installed, without having to walk around each floor.

Thanks

SP3 for what?

There is no SP3 for Windows XP. However, there is a SP3
for Microsoft Office XP.

I'm assuming you mean windows2k. Check the WindowsUpdate.log file in
C:/winnt. It won't tell you the SP number, but it will give you the
full version number of Windows that is installed. Then it's just a
matter of figuring out what version SP3 is.

What program?
What operating system?
For a program, open it, Help/About.
For operating system, right click My Computer, click Properties.

You are posting to a Windows XP newsgroup and there is no SP-3 for Windows
XP.
For further information post to a newsgroup specific to your operating
system or program:

I am sorry. This is for Microsoft Outlook. I don't know where the idea
of it being for Windows came from. Well I haven't been able to find an
answer to my solution yet. I recently installed the SPCheck tool from
Microsoft and I tried that, but I don't think this checks Outlook. If
it does could someone tell me how to find the Outlook file? If it
doesn't, some more suggestions would be good.

Maybe the idea that t would be for Windows comes from the fact that this
newsgroup is about Windows XP?

If you need to manage a lot of PC, I would try to get a software inventory
tool, or something like SMS.

Don't worry. I found an answer and this is a Windows XP general
newsgroup, which is what our company is currently running under.
