Where can I find a list of Word's formatting marks?

I would like to locate a list of the formatting marks Word displays when the
"reveal formatting" option is is selected, and some indication what they
mean.

Most are obvious -- a dot is a space, a paragraph mark is a paragraph, etc.
Occasionally, however, I see something I do not recognize. What, for
example, does a small square box represent?

I've tried doing searches in help and in Micorsoft's knowledge base for
"list formatting marks," "formatting mark chart" and the like without
success.
