Guys I think I'm going to have to do a disk format and re-install of XP HE.
I originally upgraded to SP2 via MS Windows Update site however I would like
SP2 on a CD as backup. Is there anywhere I can download SP2 is a saveable
download rather than an update?? I know I can order a CD from MS at £6
shipping in UK but it can take 6 weeks to arrive and I'm a bit impatient!! I
know its a big file but I've got 2Mb broadband so it wont take long.

Thanks

I have an extra copy of SP2, that you more than welcome to have.....It can't
cost that much to mail, even to the UK......I'll even pay for the postage if
you want it (my Christmas present to you) Let me know..

Why don't you check out slipstreaming ?? That allows you to build
a new install CD for yourself with SP2 (yes, you do still have to
download it) merged so next time you have an install CD with SP2
in it.
http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm is a good
place to start.

Do not know about the UK, but in US Microsoft says delivery will take 6 to 7
weeks. The CD actually arrived in one week. In addition to the other steps
recommended, you may want to order the CD also.

i requested my cd from microsoft and they shipped it in 2 days from germany
and they didn't charge for it; but it was a few months back, so i don't know
if they have started charging for the cd.
