where are the recently viewed items in office 2007?

One of the features I used in office products was the recently used history
that was often under the file menu dropdown. Where did that go?? I am so
frustrated that I haven't my menu bar anymore and have to add stuff - then I
don't get my history so the most recently opened documents I have to open
manually! HELP
 
Recently opened workbooks are on the Office menu - click the circle in the
top left corner.
