Where are the cookies?

Can someone tell me how I can find the cookies for IE7? I want to *hand
select* those to delete and I cannot locate the folder they're in. The
frustration level using Vista and is endless.

Easiest way is to type shell:cookies in the Start Run box/Start Search box.
Same with XP.

I have that done automatically anyway, as I block all cookies by default
(apart from session cookies), for no other reason than not liking to clutter
my drives with shrapnel, be that cookies, registry entries or whatever.

For all sites that I do want to be kept signed on to, I enable cookies for
that site by double clicking the little icon that appears at the bottom of
IE when a cookie is blocked.

Oh wow, I have just realised that I still have 1084 cookies on this laptop,
all from sites that I want cookies enabled for. I assume a lot of those
include sites which have used multiple cookies, over the last three years.

I share that dislike and am something of a fanatic about keeping my
drive free of all clutter. I just don't like to have to take the
extra step to approve/disapprove a particular cookie.

There is no extra step in IE. I just enable the cookie for any new site
that I want to enable them, as and when I visit such a site, which is only
occassionally. They are all automatically disabled by default.
Plus... I use Firefox. I like it much better than IE7 just as it
comes, and with the add-ons I've chosen, it trashes IE7 badly.
So badly that I probably won't even consider IE8 when it becomes
available (I've already given the public beta a good, hard look).

I use both, but I use IE a lot more, with some IE7Pro addons. However,
weirdly, I actually agree that Firefox is better in a lot of ways.

I prefer the IE7/IE8 interface a lot more more. I like the design, but I
acknowledge that it is made badly. The rendering is not as quick as
Firefox's, and it does not scroll as smoothly. You cannot select text as
easily - in fact, selecting text in IE can be very frustrating sometimes.

Firefox works better, but I do not like the interface, including the
dialogues and cookie handling. It also is slower to start up. I seem to be
using it more and more though.

Thank you - got them!) Now how can I stop that window that comes up
asking if I'm sure I want to delete a file each and every time?

I had CC cleaner on my XP machine and never could figure out how to get it
to work and not delete all the cookies.

Sounds like you are too stupid to use Vista. Contact Alias and he will help
you put Ubuntu on your computer.

228 here. I only keep cookies from sites I shop/bank at or that have
to log into.

You do realize how ridiculously small cookies are in the scheme of
things these days, right? It's not like they use any measurable
amount of disk space.

Hand your keyboard over to a 10-year-old and the kid will figure it

My 10 year old grandson did figure it out and it still deleted all the
cookies. I'm surprised you're unaware that software can be corrupt or not
work properly. Maybe you need to have a 10 yr old teach you something, eh?
) Maybe you shouldn't be here giving others advice until you do.

make it look bad for MS.
