can anyone tell me the name of the filename(s) where associated event sound
schemes, including the default windows sound scheme, are stored.

thanks

thanks for the reply, but thats not what im actually after - i need to know
the filename that stores the links between the operation and the sound; for
example default beep maps to ding.wav for the windows default sound scheme.

if you know, that would be great...

im running vista home premium 32 bit.

cheers

thanks for that - the problem is that my default windows sound scheme has no
..wavs associated with any operation. rather than manually link each sound
back, im hoping to restore the scheme either by copying a file over from an
identical machine or, more probably, change a value or set of values in the
registry - it must be corrupt!

any clues?...when i look at the system sounds console, there are no speaker
icons against any operations, even though the default windows sound scheme is
set.
