When word is minimized, it automatically closes

I use word a lot - I leave it open all the time and minimized. The new
version seems to close automatically when it is not being used. Does anyone
have a solution for this?

Figured it out - Microsoft Outlook was using word 2003 to edit email
messages. when I sent email messages this would close the word program.
