Writing up a specification and need a date;

When was Access 97 Official support dropped by Microsoft, or has it been?

On a side note, I'd say that recently when Microsoft bought newspaper
ads declaring that the Office 97 era was over and that pictured a
programmer type donning a dinosaur mask, it indicated that MS was not
only through supporting Office 97, but that MS was in the complete
ridicule stage. That seemed like a desperate move. Excepting video
games, they may be about to get into a fight for their very existence.
In spite of the tremendous effort they spent trying to get the right
corporate dominos in place, the factors that caused MS to thrive in the
past seem to be disappearing rapidly. Instead of being able to lead, MS
has been having to react.

Anyway...Office 2003 is way better than 97.

I agree with that. Why doesn't Microsoft point out the features that
make Access 2003 better than Access 97 in their ads rather than try to
instill a stereotype without providing justification, for the purpose of
scaring decision makers with the threat of ridicule? Access 12 also has
a lot going for it. If they stick to pointing out the new features
they'll do well.
