When printing, odd letters disappear tho they appear on screen?

When printing a Word document some letters and/or words will not be printed
-even though the letter/s or words appear in full on the screen.

I have tried deleting the words or letters and re-typing them but this does
not always work.

Has anyone experienced this?
 
Are these words and letters formatted as Hidden text?
