when outlook is receiving, all functions get blocked. what to do?

when outlook is downloading incoming mail, all functions get blocked. i can't
open mail, move to the calendar, etc. I cleaned up the mailbox, archive
regularly, did the disk cleanup and defragmented. any suggestion?

Hello rk,

This will be due to scanning of your e-mails by anti virus program.
Disable the anti virus and check what happens.
let us know the status as it might be for other couple of reasons too.

disabling the antivirus check for incoming mail in order to solve the
outlook problem doesn't seem reasonable. i would be increasing risks. are
there any other possible causes?
