What's with the "slow loading" questions?

How many people know how to use a computer or an OS? All the way back
to DOS, you had to do certain things to get your computer to run
better: CHKDSK /F, defrag /F, etc. It is the same with the latest
Windows. There are even defraggers and such for Mac OSX, OS/2, etc.
Just use them. These constant questions are getting out of hand!

Do you think you could be a bit more arrogant and patronizing?

Alias,
Just tired of reading/seeing the constant threads about "my computer
is slowing down", not being patronizing. Heh, feel free to abuse me,
I use OS/2!

I will not use the USENET protocol to waste time with people who
cannot answer politely. I know, having read your posts to others,
that you do not really respond, except with sarcasm. BTW, I have been
using these forums since CompuServe, when civility reigned.
I was merely commenting on the fact that so many people don't even
know the basic functions of the computer, as you would probably say,
RTFM! By the way, use your sarcasm/abuse on me, as I use OS/2!

I might smoke dope, jump rope, tell funny jokes, laugh, drink wine and
have a good time but I don't play that Mickey Mouse shit.

Well, let's see here: This is just a WAG, but I'd
say they are having problems with "slow loading"
of their computers! Like you back when you first
started playing with computers, they have
questions, and ... ask for assistance here.

I do have a few possible solutions for you though:

1. Don't read them.
2. Ignore them since you obviously cannot help
them according to your comments here.
3. Go elsewhere, where people are not having those
problems.
4. Stop wasting your time with silly posts like
this.
5. Precisely HOW are they getting "out of hand"?
A person asks for assistance, hopefully gets the
assistance he/she/it needs, and they go away
happy.
6. Why are you against #5 happening?
7. Why don't you do some research so you can
assist them, as opposed to complaining that people
have the unmitigated gall to go to a help group
for ... wait for it ... help!
8. Most of your comments are OFF TOPIC.
Netiquette has rules concerning such things; you
should learn them.
9. DOS, MAC etc. all all irrelevant and also off
topic.
10. Don't be so patronizingly silly and find
something useful to do.

The above is what's considered "unsolicited
advice", something else netiquette forbids. But
in your case I think they're useful and about the
only response that works.

Get real.

Such a simple solution and you can't see it?? If you're tired of
reading/seeing threads about systems
slowing down, quit reading/looking at them.

Not everyone is as smart as you.

Sounds like you are just trying to start a war. Why else would you say
something like "use your sarcasm/abuse on me as I use OS/2" more than once?

If you were around when "civility reigned" then how come you don't know to
use any?

assistance burn out is a known issue, when your nearing the end of your
patience
in wanting to help, it's time to take a vacation from helping others.
if you are having an issue seeing this in yourself, then please take this as
a hint to take a vacation from helping for a bit, till you have a better
attitude.
