I just bought a new computer and it is 64 bit OS. I always had 32 bit and I
have
no idea what the difference is. All I could find is the it is faster (?)
Anyone know the difference, or know of a site a newbie could understand ?
Thanks

A 64-bit operating system processes data in 64-bit chunks rather than
32-bit chunks. In theory it's faster, but in practice, it seldom is,
unless you are running 64-bit applications. Since there are very few
such applications yet, for most people the difference is somewhere
between tiny and non-existent.

64-bit is not faster than 32-bit.

the difference is that 64-bit can access and use 4 gigs of ram and more.
