What's the best way to move a contact list to public folder?

What's the best way to move a user's contact list to a public folder?

We restrict write access to public folders. Right now, I have user's email
me the contact list in question and then I move the list into the appropriate
public folder for them. I'm just wondering if there's a better way of doing
it.

It seems I should be able to access the user's email box as an administrator
and move the contact list for them. Is this possible?

We're using Outlook 2003 and Exchange 6.5 on the backend.

Thanks for any help

instead of messing with mailbox permissions, have the user add you as a
delegate and give you access to their contacts folder

Members of the domain admins group are explicitly denied access to other
users mailboxes under Exchange 2003. However it is possible to
delegate/assign rights to domain user a to domain user b's mailbox using
ADUC. There is at least one Microsoft knowledge base article that covers
how to grant "service level" access to all mailboxes if the site needs to
set something up like this.

Is there a reason your site doesn't consider granting temporary rights to
allow a user to create items* in a public folder and then remove later or is
it IT's position to maintain these folder(s) for the user(s)?

* Rights are pretty granuliar where you can grant them the right to create
items in a folder but not create new folders, .etc

Hi, neo. It's IT policy not to give users too many rights to the public
folders.

I think you and seth have put me on the right track, though.

Thanks,

Ron
