after I log in, I get a message to
Please insert your CDROM with the virtual Truck program.
Looking for file:
d:\Connect.exe

What does this mean?

Sounds to me like some kind of spyware or something which Winblows is so
vulnerable to. Suggest you try booting into safe mode by pressing F8
after the bios loading is done (before the Windows XPee splash screen) and
run adaware and spybot.

Windows XP crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.

It appears that you dont want your posts to be taken seriously.

Try this:

Click Start
Click Run
Type: msconfig
Click the OK button
When the System Configuration Utility opens click the Startup tab
In the Command field look for: D:\Connect.exe
If you find it there, click to REMOVE the checkmark in the box to the far
left of the line with that item
Click the APPLY and OK buttons in that window
Exit Windows and restart your system
Upon the first system boot after making the above changes you will get a
dialog box saying that you've chosen Selective Startup, click to put a
checkmark in the box that says not to show the message again. Future
startups will then be normal, without showing the selective startup box, or
the message that you referred to in your post. The above is the fix ONLY IF
the message is the result of D:\Connect.exe being in either your Startup
group, or in one of the RUN lines in your Windows Registry.
