what would happen?

Windows forces a number of directories on me that I have no use for. I
can't seem to get rid of them since they are hard-coded into the OS,
such as My Music, My Pictures, blah-blah-blah. I opened TweakUI to set
these all to the same directory, one that already exists and is used by
me for other things (effectively making the My... folders vanish). But
TweakUI had a very clear warning not to set any two special folders to
point to the same location or Bad Things Would Happen(tm). What are we
talking about here? Would it be so disasterous if My Music = My
Pictures = My Documents? What would actually happen? Has anybody done
this or is it just more FUD?

I don't see why u couldn't/don't just delete the
directories u don't want instead of changing what the
target is. Basically, i think if u change the target
it'll be more like a shortcut instead and the directory
will still reside in windows but u won't be using it
anymore. U'd have to regedit to remove them from the
start menu, which isn't a big deal.
I don't see anything terribly awful happening by changing
that, yet i haven't done it as i do use the folders and
just shortcut inbetween them and other drives.

Because the way Windows is made if you delete those directories (and I
have) they reappear the next time you open a "Save as..." dialogue box
or launch certain accessories. I've deleted some of these directories
repeatedly. None have remained gone for more than an hour.
