I'm getting an annoying message when trying to install a new program
"Cannot access Windows Installer Service". Any suggestions on what to do to
fix this problem????

Try installing the latest installer:
Windows 2000 Service Pack 3; Windows 2000 Service Pack 4; Windows Server 2003;
Windows XP; Windows XP Service Pack 1; Windows XP Service Pack 2
Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable supports Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3
or later, Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 1, Windows XP Service Pack 2 and
Windows Server 2003. Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 contains Windows
Installer 3.1 and therefore can't be installed or upgraded by this
redistributable.

Thank you for the suggestion but I believe I have already installed the 3.0
Windows Installer and still having same issue. I installed it and rebooted
and tried installing my program again and same error comes up.

I don't know if you got my last message but I have already installed Win.
Installer 3.0 and still getting same error. I rebooted my PC once I installed
the installer. Any other suggestions???

Click Start > Run, type in: services.msc and press Enter. Check that
Windows Installer is not disabled.

Move on to a new operating system. XP is OLD now and has been around for 6
years. That's a long time for operating systems. Check out some modern
