''What the President Ordered in This Case Was a Crime"

When i was living in Texas in 1986 he was gov, he wanted "All Texans"
to learn Spanish I thought in a America we spoke English.

And he's not a Texan, he's a down-easter. (Even the accent is phony.)
You're saying that Ben Franklin, who disagreed with that, wasn't a
"true American"?
I do not remember saying anything about Ben Franklin he was Way-before
my time. I only speak about the current events like Duh!.

Those who don't learn history are doomed by it.

Franklin said that those who give up freedom for security deserve
neither.

You know when I was in school I hated history, Im a lot older now I
watch the History channel a lot read the history books a lot!.

Yes you are correct "Franklin said that those who give up freedom for
security deserve
neither."

Also correct: And he's not a Texan, he's a down-easter. (Even the
accent is phony.)

It seems you Love to quote me :)
At least you have someone to speak for you :p
as do I :)

Ok this is for FREEWARE, we can agree to disagree, be that we are
American's or not we are people we are human's.
It would be nice if we all recived the same money and benifts we grant
our public officals.
We all would be truely equal.

I personally think the men and women in Power in US Gov make way to
much $$$$$, the comman man or woman can barely pay
rent, power, water, gas, cable, insurance and buy food, the congress men and
women are living the life of luxury.

While we who voted them into office barely get by.
Our tax code is just that in code.
Lawyers make way too much and Murders get away with murder (you know
who you are).

The rich get richer and the poorer get poorer.

We need a goverment that checks and balances itself like we have to
balance our check books. But as we know no system is ever prefect.
We do the best we can with what we have "if it is not broke dont fix
it." and if it is broke we try to fix it.

We are above all else human's and we can all agree on this, I may not
agree with you on certain issues, but you know what I hate you not!.
You make my life worth living, you lift me up, and above all else we
share the freeware!.
And sharing is the point!.
:)

Are you a common man (cliche)?
I guess I am uncommon. I can pay for those things.
Maybe it's because I have a job.
More cliche. This old saw has been around for so long ... if it were true,
we'd have NO poor people anymore!

It's true that in the US, never before (at least after the Second World
War) the income was that unequally distributed than now. Says the OECD,
I think. And this is not a result of one part of the population being
lazy and and the other working but because of tax laws that intend to
favour the rich donators to a specific party.

So, nothing of a cliché.

Good for you. Many work, but don;t get paid sustainable wages. The working
poor they're called.

No cliche, just today it was confirmed yet again. By your own government.

When Franklin made that famous quote, I hardly think he had the mass murder
of women and children in mind. Do you?

I can't believe people are still whining about the elections. Both were fair
and legal, and just as the framers of the constitution intended.

I don't think he would have suggested giving up freedom as a way to
catch murderers. In fact, the British were considered the terrorists
of the day by the colonists, and Franklin was referring to them. He
was quite willing to give up his money, his property - even his life -
but not his freedom. After all, it was freedom he was willing to give
up his life for. Give up his freedom for the bugaboo of the day? I
think not.

Remember, Communists were also "women and child killers". The Yellow
Menace was something all Americans had to fear. We had to imprison
Americans who had certain foreign ancestry to assure our security.
There's always a reason to let the fascists turn freedom off
"temporarily". Those who allow it deserve the lack of freedom they
reap.

This nation wasn't founded on the motto, "My freedom for security".
