What part of CURRENCY doesn't access understand?

I have a fairly straightforward report based on a fairly straightforward
query.

On it I have four fields which represent 30 60 90 90+ aging. On the
report, I have each field set to currency, 2 decimal places.

I get no commas and no dollars signs on the output of this report, just
raw numbers to two decimal places.

Access 2003.

Any ideas?

Fields are where data is stored in your table.
Controls are where data is displayed on your report.
Set the Format property of the control on the report to
currency
or to
$#,##0.00

Sorry, sometimes Access really ticks me off.

Like I said, the properties for these fields are all "currency," and two
decimal places.

I tried Fredg's suggestion, and it made no difference. I have
successfully changed other things, font weight, font size, text align,
etc...

Phil,

Gently suggesting scarism will not get you much...

That being said, can you please let us know on your report what is the
formatting for the field in question.
Sorry, the TEXT BOX CONTROLS have that formatting.

Phil,
CURRENCY formatting won't work with strings.
I expect your values are not numeric values. View the values in the
datasheet view of your report's record source and I expect they will be left
aligned (as text). You will need to convert the strings to numbers either in
the control source or in the query.

That was it. I have a fairly complex nested IIF() and one of the
results was "" instead of Null. Of course, I carried that one error
through to all four fields. Replaced it with a Null and it works fine.

Thanx to all.

Yes, it does matter whether something is a "field" or a "control", as both
have separate Format properties -- if you are seeking help. If you only
want to rant, of course, then you can call it a "banana" or whatever you'd
like.

It turned out, didn't it, that it wasn't the tool after all?
