what modem required for dialling contacts

I am running windows vista on a iMAC using VMware.
I need an external modem so that I can dial numbers from my contacts in
Microsoft Office Outlook.
Any suggestions?

Any voice modem should work as long as its identified by the virtual machine
as a voice modem. It will probably need to support both mac and windows
though.
