What kind of compression is used in powerpoint?

Hi,
I understand that powerpoint files are already compressed when saved to
disk (which is why zipping them up doesent do that much good). My
question is, what kind of compression is used in the powerpoint file?

I don't believe that's documented anywhere. 2007 will use ZIP compression,
though.

And my question is: why your question?
