Thanks!

I like having an intake fan in front of the hard drives. My Antec
case does, and maybe other brands do.

Wow, the Antec P180 is a really nice looking case!

Looks like it has great cooling too.

Thanks for the tip!

I like my Antec Sonata.
Very quiet, tool-less, big fans, plenty of room.

IMO, you can't go wrong with Antec. Great cases, great power supplies. Some
cases may not look as cool on the outside as some others do, but it's
details that count. Most Antec cases have drive rails, lots of cooling
possibilities, latched side covers, locking front doors (great when you
have kids), brass standoffs, rubber isolation for hard drives, etc., etc..
Some cases look really mind blowing on the outside, but let you down when
you open the case - not Antec. Only the very low end Antec cases are void
of these nice options.

IMO, with a little paint, vinyl dye, a Dremel, and some inspiration, you can
make the case look as cool as you want on the outside, but inside you need
to have a great case from the start.

Just check out their website and look at their cases. Some are fancier than
others, but they're all a great place to start.

I don't like cases with doors and I don't like flashy (lights, side
windows etc.) cases so I bought this case just recently.

Completely toolless, including the motherboard, mb tray comes out and
you just press the mb onto the six prongs, has 120mm fan in year and
space for 80mm fan in the front, and also has a cpu air duct. It's a
pretty quiet case too which is important to me.

Here's a review.

Well, the last 2 cases I bought were Antecs midsize, ks282 and sk3700.
Lots of room inside, easy access.

My local TV news featured web site http://www.cairo.com which gathers
all the local advertisements in your zipcode to show the lowest
advertised prices on almost anything. You can even look at the sellers
ad.

For instance in my area CompUsa has a 2 sale on
the P180 for $99.99 and a Lanboy for $29.99.

It's a great case (sound and cooling) but buildtime does take a bit longer
because the way the case is designed. The other thing to watch out for is
the length of the cables on the power supply, with this case your going to
need long cables and that rules out a lot of powersupplies. I've used an
Antec 430w Truepower with this case. HTH

I really like the Antec SLK1650B. It is small and doesn't have that
outside door which I think gets in the way. Great power supply, and
the side port cooling keeps my AMD64 3000 at 38 degrees idle
temp, and never goes out of the 40s during high loads.

It's funny you mention the sales since I just got back from my local
CompUSA store after buying the Lanboy for $30 after the rebates.

I've purchased two Antec 3700-BQE cases love them, especially the sideways
hard disk drive cages. These things are very quiet, too.

Yes, there are more expensive cases, but if you don't need a Rolls-Royce, I
doubt you can find a better case for the money.

For some inexplicable reason, though, the 350W power supply that Antec chose
to ship with this case is pretty crappy. It has reliability issues, it gets
loud after the machine warms up, and the cabling isn't bundled or modular. I
wish I could but this case without the power supply. I prefer the Antec
Neopower 480W and that's what I've put into the two systems I assembled
using this case:

Well, if you don't mind spending some money this is an absolutely wonderful
case. It's what I used in my last build and it has great airflow and
accessibility and classic good-looks (I'm not a fan of the space-alien,
boom-box looking cases that seem to be so popular these days...) I'm
completely satisfied with mine and expect I'll still be using it 10-15 years
from now having gone through numerous upgrades. I can't think of any way to
improve it, though it would be nice if it was a little more affordable.

It is indeed a handsome case, but the inly reason I chose to pass it up was
because of the front USB ports--they're mounted on the bottom of the case! I
hate when case manufacturers do that. Many (most?) folks keep their towers
on the floor, so why put the USB ports there??

They do it because they like to imagine the fat men scrabbling about
on the floor with their overweight fat arses sticking in the air.
Luckily that doesn't apply to me ;-)

The fat ass part, or the " imagine the fat men scrabbling about on the
floor" part?

ROTFLMAO!

(Although your comment was funny, too, Ann.) :)
