What is the range finder and how do you use it?

In a task based quiz we were asked to use the range finder to determine
whether a value in F4 referred to the value in D4 and E4. After doing so we
were to close the range finder.

I have the Excel2003 textbook and can not locate this action anywhere, not
is is visible in online help.

If anyone could fill me in as to what the range finder is and how to use it,
that would be great, thanks.

If D4 has a formula that includes F4 (say =F4*4) then when D4 is double
clicked the cell F4 will have a coloured border - range finder. When you
activate another cell the range finder goes away.
best wishes

Maybe?

Tools>Formula Auditing>Trace Precedents

Uses arrows to show which cells are referenced in F4.

Hit "remove all arrows" when done.
