What is the GDI+ Detection Tool & Why Should I Install It?

I actually _DID_ install the update, but ripped it out by restoring my
system from back-up.

During the very brief time that it was on my system (w2k sp4) it 'locked up'
when I tried to run it...

I probably DO need to install it, as I am using MS Office 2000...

Any replies, comments, suggestions, explainations are welcomed and encouraged!

Thanks in advance.

Just go to Windows Update and Office Update and install all critical
updates. The GDI detection tool is pretty useless as far as I've
seen.....all it will likely do is bring you around to a page that says what
I just suggested.

OK.. thanks...

But, I do have concerns about it having locked up when I tried to run it...
....specifically... I'm wondering what potential it has to 'gum-up-the-works'
on my '95% stable' w2k installation.

Hi

I suggest you read the information in the Security Bulletin MS04-028
link below) and decide if you need the update(s) or not.

Note that Microsoft Office 2000 is in the "Non-Affected Software" list.
