Last week, my windowXP crashed again. I did the quick
retored. After the restoration, I can't play a DVD in the
DVD drive. It said the decord was not there. What is
the DVD decord. How can I fix this problem?

DVD codec, to interpret DVD movie disks. One is not supplied with XP -
you have to get one for one of the commercial DVD playing programs (when
Media Player will use it). At, for one

Did you have another DVD program install before, like WinDVD, or
PowerDVD? If you still have a copy, install it. If not you'll have to
contact your OEM for support, or buy a DVD decoder.

DVD Decoder. You need a program such as PowerDVD to read and view
encrypted DVD movies. Media Player does not automatically include one.
