what is synchost.exe error message ?

Hi everyone

Running a W2k machione which has suddenly started getting the following
error message.
"synchost.exe has generated errors. will close program etc."

cant find anything about it on the MS web site - can anyone tell me what the
problem is or likely to be?

sounds like the virus that's out now. download your update
def files and sweep your pc.
