On two of my Windows server 2003 servers, in the system32 folder, I have a
folder called NTMSDATA, and inside that folder there is a file called
NTMSIDX. Can anyone tell me what this is. If I Google NTMSIDX I get a lot
of hits saying it is spyware. It this true?

I don't think so, zeb. If you get on any Microsoft site and do a search
for "NtmsData" you can see that this folder holds a database for removable
storage devices. But really filenames don't mean all that much, as it
could have been altered to anything else, so to give yourself some peace of
mind by sending in that contained database file "NTMSIDX" in for an
automated evaluation at either or both of these multi-scanner sites:

Thanks for the help. It looks like this particular file is created when you
run a backup using the Windows backup. I backup the system state twice a
day, in addition to a tape backup, using Backup Exec. I recreated the file
