What is Native Mode

I want to Migrate my windows NT 4 server to Windows 2000
server using ADMT tool and ADMT requires that my wk2
server be in native mode. I must keep my Nt 4 PDC active
for until all member servers are migrated to windows 2000.

The question is: How do I setup my windows 2000 server in
native mode and still have a mix mode operation?

Native mode requires that all DCs within the domain are Windows 2000 DCs.
That does not mean that trusted domains have to be Windows 2000 domains.
You will still be able to communicate with trusted domains that have NT 4.0
DCs. You will still be able to keep your NT PDC and migrate the member
servers into the new domain.
