I have a couple of documents in excel that when I try to
open them I get a window that pops up and says this:

A document with the same name is already open. You cannot
open two documents with the same name, even if the
documents are in different folders.
To open the second document, either close the document
that's currently open, or rename one of the documents.

Then there is a button that you I can click that says OK
and if I click on that the document stays open. What is
going on? Help please.

There are a lot of other times when I open a document and
a window pops up and says that the file I am opening is
already being used by me and asks if I want to make a
copy. I just click cancel and not copy and the window
closes and I am at my document.

Your Excel file associations are a little screwed up. The easiest way to
fix this is to re-register Excel. From Start->Run enter "Excel.exe
/regserver" without quotes. There is a space before the slash. If the
Office Installer starts up just cancel it.
