What is Full USENET Designation? Need to cross-post a question, which
requires the full designation. Can you give an example? We are accessing
these forums from the Foxfire browser.

Thanks.

It isn't at all clear to me what you are asking, but I suspect that
you don't understand what crossposting is.

Please do not send the same message separately to more than one
newsgroup (called multiposting, not crossposting). Doing so just
fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup doesn't
get to see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for those who
read all the newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they see the
message multiple times instead of once (they would see it only once if
you correctly crossposted instead -- sending a single message
simultaneously to multiple newsgroups). This wastes everyone's time,
and gets you poorer help than you should get.

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please
do so by crossposting (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

Please see "Multiposting vs Crossposting" at

What browser you use doesn't matter, but I strongly recommend that you
do *not* access these newsgroups from a web site. You are using the
awful web interface to read this newsgroup--it's the slowest,
clunkiest, most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and
switch to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with
Windows. See

Is "Full Usenet Designation" some term you made up? Is it something
declared by whatever local NNTP client you use to access newsgroups?

We're not there looking over your shoulder to see what your finger is
pointing at.
