What Is Calc.exe Is It Ad-Ware

I have installed Norton Security 2005 and when a complete full system scan
has finished it says that 1 threat was detected. Apprently Calc.exe is
ad-ware according to Symantec.Com but my Ad-ware removal tool Lavasoft
Ad-Ware SE dosn't detect it as ad-ware. Now If I search my PC & then delete
it it comes back everytime I come online. I have fully blocked it in my
firewall incase it does some serious damgae.

Is there anyway of getting rid of it?

CALC.EXE is the OS calculator, a GUI utility that is like a hand held calculator.

Find the file. Right click on the file and choose "version".

My Win2K CALC.EXE shows the following...

File Version: 5.0.2134.1
Description: Windows Calculator application file
Copyright: Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp. 1991-1995

What does yours indicate ?

calc.exe MAY be the windows calculator program... if it is it should be in
the windows\system32 folder. if it is somewhere else then it may be adware
that is being re-installed every time you clean it out by some other process
that isn't being detected.
