What is Access2003 object mSysDb

I have two large, complex and multi-user Access2003 databases that have been
used for some time without issue. In the last few days, on re-opening the
database after doing the regular Compact and Repair as normal, we have had a
message saying "The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object
'MSysDb'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the
path name correctly." The database then refuses to open.

There are a number of hidden system tables in Access that start with MSys.
You don't want to mess with them; however, you can see them by going to
Tools, Options, View tab and checking show Hidden objects and System objects.
Again don't mess with these tables.

Without a doubt, your databases are being corrupted. It could well be a
network problem like a bad cable, network card, router, or switch. It could
also be a problem with one of the user's computers.

Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database corruption.

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database
towards the bottom this page:
