what is a rollback?

Hi All,

I overheard a conversation a technician had with a customer.
The computer would not boot (XP), so he performed "rollback" to
fix the weird drivers the customer had installed.

Is this the f8 screen where you can load the last known
good configuration? What is a rollback, especially when you
can not boot? How do you do it?

What you describe (last good config.) is certainly a "rollback", and you

You open Device Manager, go to the hardware item in question, right-click
and select properties, and look for a button labelled rollback driver.
